Hispanic College Scholarships
Hispanic organizations offer Hispanic students a number of college
scholarships. The Hispanic college scholarship funding guidelines
and plans are announced in Fall for the entire school year. This
is when most high school students are searching for ways to finance
a college degree.
A number of large Corporations have established scholarships for
hispanic students, including: Coors, General Motors, CNN, MasterCard,
Lockheed Martin, Sallie Mae, Wachovia, Office Depot and Time Warner.
Latino organizations such as the National Association of the Hispanic
Journalists, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Hispanic Association of
Colleges and Universities, and National Hispanic Scholarship, also
provide college scholarships.
Both corporations and Latino organizations can positive publicity
for their generous support to college student scholarship programs.
Latinos are an important cultural consumer group who are well acclimated
into the American lifestyle. Until the 2000 Census, this minority
group was largely unnoticed. However, the purchasing power of Hispanic
groups has made conversationalists and marketers sit up and take
more notice. And this means focusing on way to gain a positive relationship
with this consumer group.
The estimate of the Multicultural Economy on year 1900-2009 was
reported by the Selig Center for Economic Growth ranges to almost
$700 billion annually.
The thousands of dollars funded for Hispanic scholarship is minimal
compared to the purchasing power of these future consumers. It's
a win-win for both the college students and the organizations.
Hispanic students now have more chances to pursue their college
education, through such benefactors and donors. In turn, many Latino
graduates give gratitude to the company who have helped them to
finish their higher education.
