Christian College Scholarship

Planning to attend college starts well before graduating high school. In particular, saving to finance your college degree can take a lifetime for most parents. For some students, they want the benefits of being able to get a college degree, whilst still following God's path.

One option is to get your bachelor’s degree at a Christian college. You will be surrounded by professors and students who are all devoted Christians and feel well supported in your endeavor to push through lifes challenges while studying for your degree.

Attending a Christian college will not lead to a sacerdotal ordination as a priest or a soldier of God, however, many find attending college with other devoted Christians is an ideal choice. You get to care for your education as well as your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

To help with the potential “high cost” of attending a Christian college or university, generous donors offer scholarships just in the same way as scholarships available at regular colleges and universities.

Steps to receive a Christian college scholarship include:

  1. Securing your Christian college scholarship is best done whilst you are in high school. Aim to get a higher GPA, higher rankings from your academic class, and higher score on your SAT.
  2. Actively participate in other school activities - especially youth groups, community volunteer programs, and others that demonstrate a solid Crisitan nature.
  3. Spring of Junior Year- is THE time to start identifying various sponsors that offer scholarships to students to attend Christian colleges. Most of the scholarships offered during this time have application deadlines set on the senior years.
  4. January-May of your High School Senior Year- you need to complete a FAFSA or the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid. Your high school counselor or your chosen Christian college will have these forms
  5. After you completed your FAFSA - produce your ISIR or Institutional Student Informational Record and send it to the Christian college where you are listed. Once the college received your ISIR, they will send you a SAR or Student Aid Report.
  6. Complete the information on the SAR to receive the financial aid package.

With God's help, Christian college life will not be as difficult as you think.
