Simple Power Learning For Your Degree
Earning a college degree requires a lot of intense research, learning
and study. Often those earning their degrees online, also have family
and work commitments. They therefore have less study time than a
student at a college campus.
Power learning helps to make the best of the study time you have.
We use only a small part of our brain to perform the normal intellectual
activities in life. Learning to tap just a fraction more resource
can have amazing effects on how well we learn and retain knowledge.
You are probably familiar with techniques such as speed reading.
Power learning is just one more technique to add to your study system.
Power Learning recognizes how most people learn and teaches them
how to study. And it is very focused on having fun! When our minds
are relaxed, and we are having fun, our brains are more open to
the signals it is receiving.
The lack of fun in learning is often why many students that did
well in high school, fail in college. The onus on the learning is
now on you! Its up to you to make it fun!
A few online college degree students can adapt readily, but many
struggle with this new format of learning. Often this is due to
the lack of frequent feedback from professors and peers.
Power Learning has many variations. It is a system that follows
a natural education progression, and is fun at the same time. Once
you learn the technique - you can apply it in any media and any
course.
One of the key principles in power learning is SQ3R
Survey > Question > Read > Recite > Review
Its a very simple system - but it works!
Power learning was developed by Dr. Paul Pimsleur, Columbia University
to help students of all ages learn quickly and retain more.
